Civic Litigation - Legal Document Preparation Services

Civic Litigation is a registered and bonded Legal Document Assistant (LDA) providing non-attorney document preparation services to individuals and non-corporate businesses throughout California. Backed by over 12 years of experience, we focus on assisting self-represented clients with the preparation of documents related to their legal matters. Our role is to prepare legal documents based solely on your specific instructions. We are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice, represent you in court, or select forms for you.

Our fees are generally lower than those charged by attorneys because we do not provide legal advice or representation, allowing you to manage costs while obtaining professionally prepared documents.

Please note: We do not handle inquiries over the phone or via email. All inquiries must be made in person through a scheduled appointment. However, once a service is requested, communication and discussions may proceed via phone or email.

What We Do

Discovery-Focused Civil Litigation Support

While we handle all phases of civil litigation document preparation, discovery is one of the most critical stages of any lawsuit. In many cases, the outcome of litigation is heavily influenced by how discovery materials are organized, prepared, and managed.

Discovery is also the most difficult phase for self-represented individuals. It involves strict deadlines, large volumes of documents, multiple rounds of requests and responses, and detailed procedural requirements. For many individuals, discovery quickly becomes the point where litigation feels overwhelming.

A significant portion of our civil litigation work is dedicated to discovery-related document preparation. These matters often require extensive document organization, indexing, sequencing, and the assembly of production-ready materials over an extended period of time. Because of the scope and volume involved, discovery matters are frequently handled as larger, project-based engagements rather than single-document requests.

Professional Quality at a Fraction of Attorney Costs

While we are not attorneys and do not provide legal advice, our document preparation emphasizes clear organization, proper formatting, and completeness suitable for cases where documents may be reviewed by opposing counsel. Clients often choose our services because they require documents that are organized, clear, and professionally prepared without incurring the higher fees typically associated with attorney services.

Our fees generally remain lower than those charged by attorneys for similar administrative document preparation tasks, allowing you to obtain high-quality work while maintaining cost efficiency. This balance helps support effective self-representation without unnecessary financial burden.

Areas of Civil Litigation We Serve

We prepare legal documents for various civil litigation issues, including, but not limited to:

Flexible Service Scope – Full Case or Partial Document Requests

While we are capable of assisting with all stages of legal document preparation, clients are not required to retain us for an entire case. Our services may be requested on a full-project basis or for specific portions only, depending on your needs and instructions.

Many clients choose to engage our services for individual documents or limited phases of their legal matters, such as drafting, formatting, organization, or preparation of specific filings, while handling other aspects of their case independently.

Whether you require assistance with a single document, a specific litigation phase, or a larger, multi-document project, our role remains the same: to prepare documents strictly according to your instructions and ensure compliance with applicable procedural and formatting requirements.

What We Do Not Do

Empowering Self-Representation

Our services are designed for those who have chosen to represent themselves in legal matters. By providing high-quality document preparation services, we help you navigate the procedural aspects of your case with confidence. Remember, our role is to prepare documents according to your specifications and ensure they meet filing requirements.

The first consultation requires an in-person meeting, but once your service begins, all remaining steps can be handled conveniently by phone or email.
